Vibhajan II: Revisiting the Line
I revisit my performance Vibhajan at the the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, Milwaukee Wisconsin. In this new performance I harnesses the power of the female body to make mark and meaning. In walking meditations, I consider land and the metaphorical land of the body. I dialogue with the inherited history of my body by returning to the use of kumkum. I consider my body as both vessel and as a boundary in and of itself. I activate this line of the body by walking in lines, spinning lines, crossing, marking, and redefining line and land.
For the duration of an hour, my performing body journeys through various spaces in the Museum.
